Masks and Social Distancing for Outdoor Classes

BBT will be following Santa Barbara County guidelines for masks to be worn. Parents and students should wear a mask to and from class. Students who maintain a distance of at least 6 feet between each other may remove their masks during class. However, we do encourage those who wish to wear a mask during class to do so.

The guidelines, released by the county of Santa Barbara, mandate that masks be worn under various circumstances, including:

    • The order requires people to wear masks whenever they are around others in public places where six-foot physical distancing is not possible, such as inside businesses, when conducting business through a car window or when waiting in line for something.

A reminder: Exceptions to the order include children aged two and under and people with medical, mental health, or developmental disability that prevents them from wearing a face mask.

More information about Santa Barbara County face mask requirements can be found here: https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Frequently-Asked-Questions-About-Wearing-a-Face-Mask.html?soid=1107647512184&aid=TmYkoRk78kM#ProtectRespectSBC

BBT has cleared space in the parking lot for up to 12 students and two instructors who will remain six feet apart. Designated areas for students and their soundboards (provided by BBT) have been indicated with red spray paint on the parking lot.

Access to studio bathrooms will be closed to all during this time. Students are strongly encouraged to use the restroom at home before class. No students will be allowed inside the studio at this time. Students may keep their belongings with them in their designated 6'x6' area. Please bring your own water bottles and hand sanitizer if possible. Hand sanitizer will be available. Masks will be available for purchase should a student need one. ($7 each- Please note, at this time, instructors can only accept exact change or checks made out to BBT for mask purchases)

Weather Policy for Outdoor Classes

Should it become unsafe to hold classes outdoors, your instructor will contact you and will inform you of their decision to continue the class on Zoom or to schedule a make-up class (in person or on Zoom).
