Dance & Theatre Education

Established in 2002

About

BBT was founded in 2002 by Annie & Tom Boscutti who have been involved in live stage productions since they met each other in 1983. Annie is a graduate of Santa Barbara City College where she studied music, theater, dance, business, and fine arts. Tom has been a successful businessman for over 30 years. His knowledge includes studies in film and studio recording in Santa Barbara and Hollywood, California. Annie and Tom established BBT to provide a venue for the development of artistic expression, creativity, and talent in the Lompoc Valley. At BBT we believe in offering an open-minded approach to the art of performing, where we emphasize a mentor-protege atmosphere for everyone.

Currently, BBT is directed by Annie & Catrina Boscutti.

Boscutti Ballet Theatre offers age-appropriate classes for ages 3-18 in a non-competitive environment. Year-round performances include recital, Santa Barbara County Fair, Santa Barbara Old Spanish Days Fiesta, and more!

We would love the opportunity to introduce the world of dance to your child in a loving, nurturing atmosphere. We hope you become part of our dance family and enjoy performing with Boscutti Ballet Theatre!

Follow along as our tale enfolds...

...It was a dark and stormy night. Flashes of lightning lit up the sky, and thunder roared like the sound of an angry giant. The waves crashed against the shore as if trying to warn the three orphans away, but they were not deterred. They had been walking along the shoreline every night ever since they had arrived at the orphanage. The orphanage was located on a small island on the outskirts of town, near the beach. It was a large, old, creaky building. The floors were always cold, and the windows were always drafty. The orphans were never allowed to leave except for their nightly walks. Three orphans, caught in the storm, huddled together for warmth, watched as an old pirate chest was tossed around in the waves and finally washed up on the shore.

Excited at the prospect of finding treasure, the three girls, Sky, Robin, and Emery, quickly opened the chest. Inside they found a journal that belonged to an ancient pirate captain they had heard many tales about. They opened the journal and read about how the captain used three beautiful gems, a sapphire, ruby, and emerald, to capture children from the island they lived on by imprisoning their shadows inside the gems. The captured children were forced to work for the evil pirate captain, sailing the seas and pirating treasure worldwide. As the girls read the diary, they began to feel like they were being watched. They looked up and saw the shadows of the evil pirate captain and his crew looking down at them from the sky. The captain laughed wickedly and said, "You three shall be my next crew!" The girls tried to run, but it was too late. The captain and crew were already upon them, capturing their shadows in the three gems. The next day, the evil pirate captain and his new crew set sail. They would sail the seven seas, plundering and pillaging wherever they went. The children would be forced to workday and night without rest.

Several years into their journey, after meeting some unusual creatures, mermaids, and fairies, the children were shown glimpses of their old lives and were told again the tale of the pirate captain and his cursed gems learned about long ago. They knew they needed to break free from the curse. If they could find all three gems, they could set the other children free by reuniting them with their shadows...
